Thanks Ryan for doing an unbelievable job on the Mythic Battles Pantheon monsters. To say this is tabletop standard is unfair to all other painters out there as it is far superior to anything at that expectation level and rivals master class level of other minis I’ve had done. Each miniature is unique and was painted as such and some of the most impressive works come on what I would consider the more boring miniatures. The python for example, is just a simple snake yet it stands out as possible my favourite piece after your painting because the colouring, blending and shading are insane, the realism is far above what I would expect to see on a painted miniature. That said the more complex miniatures stand out even more than they did before as you bring out all of the hidden features and add character to each mini, such as the rusted anchor, the magma fists, the branding on the Minotaur, just awesome. I guess my highest praise is that I’ve already dropped down my deposit for you to tackle the heroes next.

The first game with the painted monsters added about an hour to the team draft as each miniature was picked up and ogled and then put down only to be picked up and ogled some more. As expected each team drafted 80% monsters because everyone wanted to use the shiny new toys which is why I drafted Theseus who has the lovely ability of Monster Slayer, so thank you for not only some beyond lovely miniatures but an easy victory as well.

TESTIMONIALS
This was my first large commission and I was looking for an artist who had testimonials that spoke highly of them but were also very real. I cannot remember how I stumbled onto Ryan or even 1year 1army, but sitting here and looking at the Death Guard he completed next to my already existing Death Guard army, they meld quite seamlessly.
Ryan is an artist who spoke very humbly about himself and doesn’t flaunt how talented he actually is. He had a very short blurb about himself and plenty of testimonials. I decided to go with him. The pictures were great but the real miniatures, when they arrive and are in your hands, the two do not compare. The miniature looks more impressive than the photos, if you have doubts on the images trust that the steps, talent and work ethic of Ryan is all there, and the final result will put a smile on your face.
I should also mention I live on the West Coast of Canada and have not yet met Ryan face to face or anyone else who has heard of him. All my friends who have seen the finished models are extremely impressed. Bravo Ryan, I have more I want from you on a future date.
When the army arrived I was mentally worried (prior to opening the box) that the colour scheme would be off. The two halves of the army merge extremely well and I couldn’t be happier with my Death Guard Army. Off to the competitive scene with my 1year 1army.
The very quiet king is absolutely amazing and very high quality. Ryan took what I wanted and absolutely blew my mind, even turning the base into a work of art.
Ryan was also extremely friendly and easy to communicate with. The wait was completely worth it. I definitely will commission future models with him.
I never thought I’d be getting a miniatures commission during a pandemic. But it happened and I’m glad I chose 1 year 1 army.
Ryan was well organized, had open communication and was a pleasure to work with. For the outstanding job he did with my Age of Sigmar Ironjawz army his cost of the project is highly market competitive.
Ryan also was very adaptable given the difficulty with pandemic restrictions with travel and health measures. He took great care with the miniatures.
If you’re considering getting your miniatures painted you should strongly consider using his talents. It’s worth the investment. Thank you very much Ryan!
My Gloomhaven arrived this morning and I just opened them during my lunch break. They look great. I like the direction you went with my Cragheart.
Thanks again. I’ll be sure to pass on your info if any of my friends are looking for painting work.
It’s been a pleasure interacting with you. I hope I find an excuse to get something else painted in the future!
I just wanted to say that I seriously love your work! It’s been great doing business with you.
Til the next time!
Thank you Ryan for the service you have done with my miniature. I was truly surprised to see mine come back so beautiful it actually impressed my wife who totally hates my hobby. I would recommend you to anyone asking for someone to paint miniatures.
Ryan you did a great job bringing my Gloomhaven characters to life, you killed it for sure. It’s already a great enough game but man that paint job adds something special to your hero whenever you open the box.
If you want it to feel like your birthday every time you pull out the minis for your favourite game… Send them to Ryan.
Ryan did an amazing job on my Warhammer exclusive command tanks. He took my bare plastic tanks and turned them into amazing works of art. I am glad I sprung for his tabletop plus on these, the attention to detail is beyond words the detail within the tanks is also painted and he made ways to allow light to entre the model to see the work done inside. I would recommend Ryan for any painting service you need.
I’ve been a hobbyist for years but painting for me was always a chore and I was never quite satisfied with my results. After getting in contact with Ryan I was able to explain the scheme and theme of what I wanted and not only was he able to recreate my theme he was able to take my lackluster abilities and refine them into the image I have always had in my head. Contacting him allowed me to focus on the aspect of the hobby that I enjoy most and bring an awesome unique force to the tabletop!
Ryan was a delight to work with. Every step of the process, from conception to execution, he was incredibly helpful, professional and genuinely interested in creating my vision. The end product was far beyond my expectations and I will be working with him again in the future!

Oh this Magnus, look at the colours! He’s proudly displayed in my living room right now!
Ryan was highly recommended to us by some local Warhammer players. He built and painted two starter sets for us. We could not be happier with the results! He exceeded our expectations. His attention to detail, professionalism and customer service is first class. It is clear that he is passionate about meeting the expectations of his customers and has the skillset to do so. He is a very talented painter and even played a game with my son to show him the ropes! Thanks Ryan!
In just 5 short weeks, my models went from half assembled, half poorly painted scraps to a beautifully posed, painted, cohesive force. The quality of work is excellent and the service amazing. Would get future armies painted here and highly recommend to anyone!

E: ryan@1year1army.com
I’ve been playing tabletop miniature games for a long time.
My primary objective is to make sure both my opponent and I have as much fun as possible. When I was young I was a player first and a hobbyist distant second. But over the years, I discovered my joy in being a hobbyist first. I finished armies, built tables, learned new techniques, and it was amazing. And now I want to share it with you.
